My Story
I am a public health leader with nearly two decades of experience designing and implementing infectious disease interventions rooted in community-centered care. My second career began with a master’s degree in Community Health, inspired by reading Mountains Beyond Mountains by Paul Farmer while living in Bolivia. Since then, my work has focused on holistic, systems-based approaches to improving community wellness. Public health continues to be my greatest teacher, shaping my understanding of human behavior, resilience, desire, and the ways we cope, adapt, and heal. Over the past four years, I have navigated profound life transitions, including health challenges, burnout, divorce, and career uncertainty. What initially feels overwhelming and paralyzing gradually reveals itself as an invitation to transformation. Through mindfulness and spiritual practices, I learn to meet uncertainty with curiosity rather than fear. During this time, yoga becomes a central healing modality for me—offering both a somatic pathway for moving energy and a deeply supportive community. This ancient practice continues to anchor my work, connecting breath, body, and awareness in meaningful and restorative ways.
In 2025, I earned a coaching certificate through Interglow Coaching School and currently pursue my Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential through the International Coaching Federation. I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training and trauma-sensitive yoga certification in 2024 and bring trauma-responsive principles into all of my offerings. In 2023, I also became a certified travel advisor through Fora Travel. These intersecting passions—coaching, yoga, and intentional travel—form the foundation of Journey Coaching and Consulting.
Outside of my professional work, I cherish my role as a mother, hiking mountain trails with my anxious cattle dog, sharing meals with loved ones, and tending to my bees—daily practices that ground me in presence, patience, and connection.
